Welcome to TestSite E18
This is a temporary site as the project is in its early stages.
Testsite E18 is an open research facility, from which data could be
received from the database connected to this website via a CSV Export webpage or SOAP Webservice.
The testsite is owned by the
Swedish Transport Administration. Measurement data is divided into for groups
with four different organizations responsible for each as follows:
1. Physics:
VTI. Contact Håkan Carlsson, hakan.carlsson@vti.se
2. Hydrology: KTH, Land and
Water Resources. Contact Bo Olofsson, boolof@kth.se
3. Dynamics: KTH, Road and
Railway Technology. Contact Alvaro Guarin,
alvaro.guarin@abe.kth.se
4. Meteorology:
The Swedish Meteorology and Hydrology Institute (SMHI). Contact Stefan Gollvik,
Stefan.Gollvik@smhi.se
The testsite is located to the new E18 motorway (opened
in the autumn of 2010) between Enköping and Västerås approximately 80 km west of
Stockholm. Besides the above mentioned data groups, there is also a RWIS-station
at the site (data collection to the Transport Administration). An application has also been
done to install the new patented "BIRDS" (Black-Ice Infrared Detection System)
and include that into the database. This is a passive measuring device of the
road surface.
User name and password could be
required from The Centre for Operations and Maintenance (CDU) at the Royal
Institute of Technology (KTH): hakanwes@kth.se.
Currently the road temperature at the site is: degrees
Celsius.
